
No matter how big or how small our businesses are, the words we use need to communicate our message in the clearest and simplest manner possible. I've seen many people who think they are saying one thing, only to find that's not what's coming across at all! In addition, everyone leads such busy lives that all our copy needs to be succinct otherwise we can't expect people to keep reading it. One of the ways I achieve this clear communication is to try to put myself in the situation I'm writing about. Then I think how I would react to what I'm reading whilst being ever mindful of who your audience is and what is ultimately required from the writing. The end result is copy that's as clear as a summer's day, targeted and easy to read. If I were looking for a copywriter, I'd be looking for someone who could show a bit of creativity and a sprinkling of flair; someone who's efficient and pays attention to detail; someone who can be flexible, adapt to changes and meet deadlines; someone who's easy to work with and can make the whole process easy and even enjoyable. Quite simply then, that's what I try to be! |
